The first new generation of watches wholly designed by Tiffany and Co. (1980) was powered by quartz great mens watches movements and externally (and spiritually) akin to the Breguet dress watch aesthetic. Tiffany started retailing Breguet – which was making a push into more mass-market watches – in 1981. They were the first and only company in the U.S. to offer Breguet watches and clocks, and the only retailer permitted to stamp their name on them.

This is a minute repeater perpetual calendar (or more accurately, a perpetual calendar moonphase minute repeater) made by Svend Andersen, the famous independent watchmaker. The movement repurposes a vintage minute repeater caliber and adds a perpetual calendar module with a retrograde date indicator that Andersen developed himself. This is said to be link one of the earliest pieces he made.
